Small Town Girl In The Blogging World....

Dear Blog,

Wow! I had no idea how huge this blogging world is. I had my list of blogs that I read daily (see side bar) and that was pretty much it. Since I have been blogging (a whopping three post) my eyes have been opened in awe. I can seriously spend HOURS on here reading all the different blogs out there-I love it, but at the same time, my house does not get cleaned. Ooops! I am in the Pacific Northwest and we are having a horrible heatwave-the last thing I feel like doing is cleaning in 90 plus degree weather WITHOUT AN AC!! I have spent all-day-long on here. I am addicted. I feel as if I just got off the bus and landed in the heart of Manhattan. I have no idea where to go,what to see. So many different things to do with my own blog, so many other blogs I have not even read yet, just bookmarked. I have a question for some of the old timers around here...if I may ask.

How does everyone get their blogs looking so cute and personal? Do you that yourself? I love all the different headers and buttons I see...sooo cute!!

While reading my daily dose of favorite blogs, I was pleasantly surprised to see I was mentioned in http://howtosurvivelifeinthesuburbs.blogspot.com/ post. I was probably just a little too excited about that. Anyhow......

Here’s how it works: USE ONLY ONE WORD!
It’s not as easy as you might think. Copy and change the answers to suit you and pass it on. It’s really hard to use only one-word answers.
1. Where is your cell phone? purse
2. Your hair? black
3. Your mother? two
4. Your father? comedian
5. Your favorite food? hamburgers
6. Your dream last night? Twilight
7. Your favorite drink? coffee
8. Your dream/goal? published
9. What room are you in? computer
10. Your hobby? writing
11. Your fear? kidnapped
12. Where do you want to be in 6 years? successful
13. Where were you last night? here
14. Something that you aren’t? patient
15. Muffins? carbs
16. Wish list item? Edward Cullen
17. Where did you grow up? New York
18. Last thing you did? this
19. What are you wearing? skirt
20. Your TV? Barney
21. Your pets? cat
22. Friends? ehh
23. Your life? hectic
24. Your mood? HOT
25. Missing someone? nope
26. Vehicle? yes
27. Something you’re not wearing? shoes
28. Your favorite store? Fred Meyer
29. Your favorite color? pink
30. When was the last time you laughed? today
31. Last time you cried? ?
32. Your best friend? dorky
33. One place that I go to over and over? crazy
34. One person who emails me regularly? Dad
35. Favorite place to eat? bed

Since I am still learning how all this works, I will nominate everyone who is reading this and has not yet played along in their own blog to do so now!!! Have fun and Happy Blogging!

On a mission...

Dear Blog,

It has been a busy few days and you were the first to get put on the back burner. In hindsight-perhaps it should have been my husband who was put on the back burner. God love him, but sometimes dealing with him is like fingernails on a chalkboard. His brother is going through a divorce,my husband works four ten hour days and has three off-so for the past three days my brother-in-law has been over here. I am okay with that. Divorce is not easy, brother in law just needed to get away (he is now back home with his parents) I am even okay with the boys (husband, brother in law, and my two sons) sitting on the xbox all-day-long. I know everyone needs an outlet, BUT (there is always a BUT) what got to me these past few days is my husband. Where to begin....FIRST of all my husband has these "lounge around the house pants" pretty self explanatory-they are pants (circa 1989) that he wears around the house. These pants are horrible, they are made from the same material as a windbreaker (understand the circa 1989 comment?) every time he walks you hear SWOOSH SWOOSH SWOOSH SWOOSH. Honestly, you know what area of the house he is in every time he walks. On one side, that can be a good thing, then I can hide my secret stash of m&m's when I hear him coming, but on the other hand,a simple update of clothing would not be a bad thing. I mean really-who wears windbreakers anymore? So.....I came up with a plan. What if "by accident" his swooshing pants went missing? I have four kids, one being a teenager, it is possible. When said pants go missing, I can by pure coincidence have a brand new UPDATED pair of lounge around the house pants waiting. What do you think, sounds like a plan huh?

In other news....my oh so perfect, can never do anything wrong cousin met my boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, also known as Edward Cullen from Twilight. More about that in my next post.

Till then....

Personal Space.....NOT!!

Dear Blog,
I was in the grocery today picking up a few last minute things. My kids have been pretty good (shocking!) so I decided I would pick them up some doughnuts. Yes, I should have stuck with strawberries and whip cream-maybe next time. This particular doughnut case is one of the better ones I have seen. Plenty to chose from, freshly baked. Second best to Krispy Kreme. Anyhow....I am standing there, minding my own business, having fun in choosing one doughnut for each of my kids. All of a sudden this lady comes up behind me, and when I say behind me I mean she barely gave me enough room to move. How rude!!!! I was hoping that once I was finished making my selections she would apologize, smile politely, something, anything. I got nothing!! I think there should not be one of those "please stand behind the red line" signs at the doughnut case. I need my personal space, I am not very comfortable if someone intrudes on my personal space....much less a complete stranger. So anyway, I let my annoyance get the best of me, walked away muttering under my breath "it's not as if she needed a doughnut". Have I mentioned I am Italian and I have a bad temper? I know, no excuse, but still......

Tomorrow starts the big diet, that should give me plenty of blogging material. I know, just what the blogging world needs, one more blog about dieting.

Till tomorrow.

My First Post

Dear Blog,

My very first post! I was just spending some time (all day) on blogger reading the many different blogs that are out there. Some bloggers have been doing this for years. I went back and read some of their very first post, then their most recent. I really enjoyed it (yes, I need to get out more) If any old time bloggers are reading this, I am curious to know-how has blogging helped you, if at all? I am making the assumption that a lot of people start blogging in hopes to one way or another become published.....yay or nay? I was advised by a fellow Blogger that Blogging can offer many wonderful opportunities, just to stay focused on who you are. I thought that was some good advice.

About me-
Stay-at-home mom of four/working on what I hope to be my first novel/addicted to Starbucks and Myspace (not necessarily in that order)/loves to read , especially Blogs/trying hard to lose some baby weight (my youngest is two, can I still use that excuse?)/LOVES LOVES LOVES the Twilight series (everyone needs their own Edward)/so NOT a morning person but wish I was/Desperate Housewives and Cold Case are my two favorite shows/I cannot live without coconut oil/in love with Brad Pitt and Ralph Macchio equally/Goodfellas is my absolute favorite movie of all time.

Anything else you want to know, just ask!!

Happy Blogging,
